I rebooted my powerbook about 1/2 an hour ago, and attempted to restart it, and all i'm getting is the grey apple screen and the spinning thing.

I've turned it off and on multiple times, but should i just give it time and be patient, or is it just done?

any help would be appreciated.

damn.. try unplugging it and poping out the battery. Leave it for a while. then let it boot. Give it a LONG time an hour or so. See what happens.

Go look at this thread, and follow the directions in the first post for running "fsck" -- your boot process might go far enough to get to that. If it reports back anything other than no errors / issues, then run it again. You may have to do it several times.

If you can't even get to this part, then try the thing listed there under resetting PRAM.
