i am actually very good at excel but am using numbers on an iPad. I need help to use the rank function (or a combination of something else) in categories within a table. Below is the example. Not sure if you can see it but i need to rank across a table with different categories. i can do this with excel for the life of me i have no idea how to do it with numbers. I can use countif to count the number of items in each category, but i need to rank the values within each category.

Categoryvaluerank
Apples52
Pears201
Apples31
Grapes302
Apples103
Grapes71
Pears302

Thanks in advanced!

Are you looking to do something like this? If so make sure your column headers are in a header row (and not body row). Go to Organize and add a category for your Category column. Then select the entire rank column and choose to sort ascending.

Also this is a very helpful community. It's too bad you've experienced some negative responses elsewhere in the Apple community. Maybe you can stick around, get to know some of the members, and help others too here.
