hi there, I have installed on my mac xp with parallels, but I want install with xp bootcamp? is a problem? and... I why when I open bootcamp say: Important: Back up your disk before partiotioning it or installing windows. WHY?? sounds like "hey this is a risk operation is better that you make a back up beacues maybe you loose the data of your hard disk!" sounds like that to my, why backup before installing bootcamp?

any help , thanks! :)

Installing XP under a BC partition will be seen as a separate installation and will need reactivation. If installed via BC first, then Parallels will see it automatically and use the BC partition instead of requiring separate installation & activation.

The advice on backing up is just common sense. Before partitioning any drive with live data for any purpose, you should ALWAYS have a current backup. It has nothing to do with Boot Camp in particular. Remember to print, read, and follow the available Boot Camp instructions before assuming anything on the installation.
