Ok, so here's the situation:
We threw my grand parents a 50th Anniversary party this past weekend and I had been volunteered to make a movie/slideshow of pictures from their 5 years of marriage, covering everything from their wedding to all of us grandkids' births and big milestones, and everything in between. We scanned close to 300 pictures, and once that process was done I spent a good portion of 3 to 4 days putting them together, adding transitions, titles, effects, a soundtrack that actually fit the content, and all that good stuff. It wasn't by any means a cheap home movie thing, but a decent 10 minute movie with alright production value that look semi-professional. We then burned 5 copies to DVD, and also provided a projector, speakers, and the DVD player to show it at the party. 80 of my grand parents closest friends and family members thought we paid someone to do it.
There's a whole big year long fiasco about the cost of this party and the logistics that came out of my uncles acting like 12 year olds regarding money which I will spare you all the details of. So I need some opinions on how much what I did would cost if we had gone to your standard home movie production business and had it done professionally. I know there are a lot of graphic designers and artists here, as I've browsed a lot of the "help me with this logo design" threads, so if you could offer your two cents, I'd really appreciate it.
1 week of work scanning, editing, and piecing together the 10 minute movie
plus the "rental" of the projection equipment.
I appreciate the help!
