You summed that up perfectly... I know I'm the one who posted this and shouldn't really be adviseing you on anything :/ ...
I have thought long and hard about this
since I don't have an Iphone, I decided to go with the ipod touch because it offers a lot more...apps, web, e-mail etc. etc., it's worth the extra money...
Plus..think about it...all the music I will ever need only takes up 50 gb at most...I don't need a huge classic to store all of that...plus it's all on my computer etc.
But: you have an iphone already...which has all of the stuff that is inticing me to spend the extra money...
I hate people saying this to me (because I'm not going to..I'm impatient) but you should really wait until september...then you can get an upgrade...they'll probably put cameras on the ipod touches etc. , upgrade memory storage
watching movies on touches are the best way to go as well...
and after tinkering with a couple of friend's classics...and ipod touches there is no comparison..
I do not need 160 gb of music with me at all times of the day..do you?
If you do (for god knows what reason), go with the classic...if not, go with the ipod touch..
the promotion code!: I totally did that...I got the 8 gb ipod touch...I'm giving it to my sister or selling it...I don't know...what I really should have done was taken the money and bought the 64 gb...half price! ...beautiful, I would recommend that (depending on your music load)
if you don't have a ton of music just get the rebate and get the 8 gb free..you're set, so..no worries
Also: I LOVE my sister's new ipod nano because of the camera...and it's super cute...however, there's just not enough space to store music...but if you're in a different boat, than I definitely recommend that (also...the color choices are gorgeous
I hate to admit this...but the "aesthetically pleasing"ness (haha) of a product does affect my decision...and the classic just doesn't cut it for me
so...obviously I've thought way too hard about this...there you go
...err, I didn't read your post thoroughly...so...I guess if you have an extra 200 dollars plus the rebate...go for the 64 gb touch...BUT if you don't (I think that's what you're saying)...and music storage IS important to you (how much music do you have/plan on having?) than pay a bit extra for the classic...if you don't have a ton of music/ don't care if all your music is with you at all times of the day then buy the 8gb touch
phew...yea, that's a lot...sorry if that did not help at all :/
<3
if it gets too hard to decide (believe me I know..I suck at deciding) I would just use the rebate...randomly select a beautiful ipod (inevitable) and be happy with what you got, don't wait too long
