I need something clarified please

I know this is an iphone question but there are no good iphone forums that i know of and i kind of need to know now. I unlocked and activated my iphone but I still have AT&T. if I added the unlimited data plan over the phone with no mention of the iphone will I be fine in using safari and the internet and such without the worry of being charged? And what about visual voicemail? I need these answers like asap so please

no, if you're going through the trouble to add data anyway why not just go with the iphone plan?
