There is a need to completely reinstall the system on my MacBook Air M1. Did a return from Monterey to BigSur via an installation from an external drive, but I suspect the process didn't go quite right.

Now here's a question - does it make sense to do a system reinstall via DFU mode using a second MacBook. Can this provide a cleaner operating system installation or is a basic macOS process on a flash drive enough? Thanks!!!

Sorry if I expressed myself incorrectly in some points, English is my second language, and I'm from Russia :)

Just to clarify you are talking about MacOS recovery to reinstall MacOS? Or are you saying you have a flash drive like a boot able USB with MacOS? Unless your Mac is in a corrupt or unbootable state then normal MacOS recovery should be fine-same with USB drive.

Most likely you shouldn't need DFU mode.

If you need any help let me know!
