well i have a 3gs now, and im trying to jail break, i used purple sn0w didnt work, i tried to use red sn0w but everytime i try to dl it it comes out as a zip (which i dont use winzip to extract any files) so whats my other option to use?

Use the iClarified links to the ipsw. It does not need extracted. Pull down the 3.0 ipsw. Use Redsnow .8 version. Works. I've done a few 3GS jailbreaks.

thnx, i'll do that right away but theres just one problem with red sn0w .8. everytime i dl it i have to extract it. is there another option that i can use?
The program is in a zipfile. You need to use Winzip, 7zip, etc to remove the "redsn0w-win_0.8" folder. Simply drag it to your desktop and then open and use the app in the folder.
