I need to make a renaming program for mainly tv shows, I currently use an applescript but it is very unreliable and renames the shows in different orders. There is no way of undoing it so I would have to go 1 by 1 and check if each show matches the name or description on a website. which is very annoying.

I want it to be very simple as to impute a .txt document with all the names of the shows in the season in it, then you can see the current file names and the names it will be.

using House Season 1 as an example

there is my terrible mock up of the what i want the basic layout to be

and this is the current applescript i am using

I have no clue how, but I'll try

axe that, I've never programmed before. Can someone walk me through this or give me a script similar?

How does the script know how to hook up the right show name with the right file?

Also the AppleScript file you linked seems to be an application and not the raw script, so I can't open it in Script Editor.
