I never realized how much I miss my iPad until I'm without it for a whole week!

My friend wanted to borrow it to take with him while he went away for training at his job. I originally offered him my laptop but he hinted at the iPad so I let him borrow it.

Upon missing it I realized how MUCH I did with it! No longer (unless I lugged my laptop around the house) could I do the following:

-Look up recipes while in the kitchen.
-Play on facebook, beejive and macrumors while in bed
-Playing on the internet while sitting on the toilet.
-Watch a movie while sitting outside.
-Paint (digitally) anywhere in the house (other then on my main computer)
-Watch my netflix anywhere in the house.
-Read my eBooks without being tied to the computer.

I miss it and I want it back :( Lol.

Please don't remind me how much I will miss my iPad this weekend - I'm off to an MTB race and I don't think wet muddy sweaty hands and fine electronics will mix.

Surely you can do a lot of that stuff with your laptop anyway, like the first few points?

This is pure ipad favouritism :apple:

Hey mate,

Unless you are riding in a race or something, pop that iPad in a case and don't break up a happy home. Take your loved one with dude. My iPad goes with me everywhere. These people that complain about it being too big just need something to complain about.

I wouldn't be going if I couldn't ride. I'm not in it to win it though, but a 12 hour race is just an awesome atmosphere to be in the middle of.

I would never lend my iPad to a friend, ever. I'm sorry. It's bad enough to let them touch it, let alone take it with them on a trip. What if they

a. Lose it
b. Scratch it
c. Break it

Also, isn't your personal information on there, like your E-Mail, Calendar, and Contacts?

I only got my iPad on Friday and went away over the weekend and forgot to take it (dur) but having taken my MBP with me and then returning to the wonderous iPad, I've found that I haven't even taken my MBP out of my bag since I got back.

Although I can do (almost) everything I'm doing on my MBP I find it so much simpler on the iPad. My only gripe is the lack of memory. I've found a number of times that I'll only have around 7mb of memory and then I get the message that my iPad is low on memory. I literally never got this on my older iPhones.
(Yes I am jailbroken)

I think it's not so much that it mimics the functionality of other devices, its just the sheer usability of the entire device that just makes it a real pleasure to use.
Even my kitten likes it! Especially when I flick through the springboard :p

I can´t live without my ipad, it´s become a crucial part of my everyday routine i use it for almost everything, ipad+bt apple keyboard and my poor lap top is collecting dust... only use it now for video editing and rendering, everything else i do it in my ipad.... (except excel, numbers is a nightmare)

I totally understand. I'm at the point that I HATE sitting down in front of my MacBook Pro. It feels so odd to use a mouse after using the touch screens on my iPad and iPhone.

It is, but its so much easier to take the iPad around the house than the laptop. My laptop is a 15 inch so its not the lightest out there.

Lol I bet everyone here has done it. If they have an iPad and say that haven't used it sitting on the toilet they are lying. :p

I loaned it to him on a "you break it, you bought it" agreement. He is extremely careful with everything (more then I am) so I trust him with it.

I also disabled the email and calendar and I know he wouldn't bother to figure out how to turn it back on. As for contacts, we know pretty much most of the same people so its all good there :)

I have a feeling he will be buying one soon. All he did was talk about how great it is and he's not a computer guy at all.
