I only have 4.9GB left on my 250GB HD on my mbrp, l like to know where its all gone

how do l know how all my space is used? In what files and folders?.
l got a large 1TB USB hardrive, which l like to transfer the files.

Absolutely. No need to pay for something when the free version is better. Note that if you run either of these as sudo (so you can see other users files) and delete then things will end up in root's trash can which can be even more annoying.

If you only have one user either is fine. There are also various Java based scanners which are similar.

DaisyDisk is free. It is an great app i found out all my space when to photos when I found out i had 300GB out of 1TB free.
