I ordered a Mac mini and I’m going mad waiting for it

I ordered one and it won’t be here until the 18th - 22. AAAAAAARGH!!!!!

I checked to see if I could get one around here and pick it up, but there aren’t any available. Damn.

I just want it NOW!!!!

Those of you who bought the new mini, how do you like it??? I tried the 2018 one but sent it back as the performance wasn’t good with 8GB of RAM and I didn’t want to pay for the upgrade.

But this M1 mini looks perfect!!!!!

I should have ordered on the first day instead of waiting. 😥

I ordered the base (8GB/256GB) M1 Mac Mini as soon as the keynote finished and it arrived on launch day. I'm using it for iOS development, as well as general usage. 100% the best computer I've ever had! Everything seems sooo snappy and responsive, even Xcode 😂.

I'm using a few apps that require Rosetta, but honestly you can't tell and there's no lag or anything. Basically, I've had no issues at all. I know the accepted wisdom is that 8GB isn't enough RAM, but I've had no problems. Oh, and it runs totally silent as far as I can tell, even when building moderately large projects and rendering videos. It is as amazing as people say

The only real problem with the M1 Mini is that you start to get used to the speed... my other 2014 and 2018 Minis seem horribly slow now

Thank you, glad to hear that. My needs won’t even be as much as yours, so the speed should be fantastic and the 8GB of RAM should be plenty for me.

I'm pretty happy with my 16GB/256GB Mini that I've had for close to a week. I will slowly migrate apps and data from my 2010 Mac Pro. I specifically didn't want to do a full transfer to force myself to think about the applications I actually need/want and of course to look for ARM versions of the same.

You'll love it.

Even if you have to wait another 5 days it will totally be worth it. It feels like such a huge step up from previous generation machines. You don't have to do benchmarks or anything - as soon as you login you'll immediately notice the difference!

I got the entry-level model, it should be plenty for what I need.
