I have taken the plunge and ordered my new BTO iMac.

Specs:-

3.4GHZ Quad core i7
4 GB Ram. I have ordered 16GB from OWC
2 TB Serial ATA Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2 GB GDDR5
Wired numeric keyboard
Magic mouse
Applecare protection

Due in a couple of weeks as it's a BTO. I can't wait for the beast to arrive.

I'll post unboxing and benchmarks videos A.S.A.P.

Cheers....

I love that you chose the wired numeric keyboard. So much better...! I'm using one right now.

I hate that goddamn Magic Mouse, though. Gave mine away, for no money. Pissed me off something terrible.

why do u hate the magic mouse so much, i love mine, only thing i dont like about it is the battery life, that sucks

What are you using instead of the magic mouse, a track pad or a wired mouse of some kind?

The lack of a physical scroll wheel with detents will always deter gamers, especially those that need precision scrolling (i.e. switching between weapons).

As for battery life, use Sanyo Eneloops. I get about 3 to 4 months a charge out of those, and that's at 60 hours a week of use.

Honestly, mate, I don't know where to start...

1). it's heavy. Feels like I'm dragging a brick.

2). the whole unibody thing, whereby the buttons are 'hidden', and you have 'lean' on the edges of it? Design gone mad.

3). the Apple 'gestures' that it supports? Big f**kin' deal.

4). it runs on batteries - which means that its batteries can run out.

5). start again at 1).

Horrible. I probably could've got £30 for it on eBay... but it just stank, so I gave it to my Dad, who'd just bought a Mini. He thought it stank too, and put it in a drawer.

In my opinion? Rubbish. Emperor's New Clothes: "hey, Apple-brains! Use this new piece of crap! It's rrrrrreally awesome! And only £57...!!!"

I never want to see one again, in my life.

Yeah. What he said, too.
