the Canadian Apple Education Store isn't working for 2 days now...

is it just me or it's really down ?

http://www.apple.com/ca/education/store/

I always got this error after a long timeout

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /routing/index.php.

Reason: Could not connect to remote machine: Operation timed out

US education store seems to work...

Try calling them up?

English isn't my first language and I'm not very good when it's time to speak....

And their "french" representatives speak less french than I speak english...

finally I kicked myself in the butt and bought an iMac with the ipod promotion with my beautiful english accent !

Yeah, I bought one last night also. My wife's 1st gen Mini hard drive bit the dust and it was easier to buy a iMac than buy a 2.5" ATA notebook drive ;)

I actually just bought a replacement drive for the mini and will try and fix it for the kids.

I am buying an imac today too, should I buy RAM aftermarket

I waited for the ipod touch refresh today before ordering my new 24 inch imac with the back to school promo of an Ipod touch. I want to upgrade my RAM from 2 gigs to 4gigs and buy the extended warranty. It's my first mac. Been a PC user

Should I buy the 2x2 Gig RAM upgrade aftermarket using Kingston RAM and save the $80 Canadian or go with Apple. If I buy it with Apple I get the 3 year warranty and their own installation.

Any opinions. I plan on using Final Cut Pro and running Parallel with Windows XP Professional.

Any opinions. Thanks,

Nelson

Congratulations on the new iMac!!!

I received it yesterday.

This computer is SO incredible. I never had that much fun with a new computer.

It's so fast, the image quality is so beautiful.

Didn't reveived my ipod yet...

my happiness is now gone. My iMac has already problems.

Last week, it was always freezing at boot. No error in verbose mode, it was freezing just after. Did a hardware test, no problem. Disk utiliy found problem on my file system and corrected it.

The only thing that "fixed" it was reinstalling the OS with archive option. I though the problem was gone until this morning......it begin to crash again but this time I had errors in verbose mode. Sometimes the "DirectoryService" process crash, and sometimes it's "lsd" process (really don't know what is it). But it boots fine in safe mode.

Now my iMac is at an Apple Store. I hope they will find the problem.

What do you think it is ? Bad sectors ? Memory ?
