I agreed, I think the OP would need to add in more breathing spaces for your interface elements.

I just built it over top of YouTube and moved a couple things. I redid the subscribers module and the "What you're watching" part but most of it is generally in the same place. YouTube IS that crowded.

Wow...sorry, no way. That's even more crowded than YouTube is normally. Everything's jammed up against everything else. And gradients should always be used in moderation. That will start hurting someone's eyes within minutes if they actually had to browse the site like that.

I think many of the links look too much like text. For instance the Upload text would look better in my opinion if it looked more like a button. I think some of the text is a tad large as well.

Ugh… I hate that. Not enough differentiation colorwise, and the gradients bug me.

Although I agree with what your saying here, I think the use of the blue and the gradients makes it appear to be even more busy. I think it's a good attempt, just not me.

Its too overloaded for my opinion. There's not enough space between items, it's too blue...another colour to compliment it would be good, and the font for your menu's are too big.

You might have gotten a little more love / less hate in the web design forum. You also a pretty high-profile site to target. In my opinion, Virb is a good example of a video portal site. It's subtle and clean. Your design wasn't.

I mean that with no disrespect. Coding for the web is easy. Making beautiful designs is damn hard.

That's beautiful, the only thing is that I tried to include everything on YouTube's page. If YouTube didn't have a standard format already I would've removed a ton of the crap they have loaded on there, the only thing is that I tried to see what I could do with all the stuff they have on there crammed into it.

That's what my blog will look like.

As you can tell I'm all for minimalism, but it was really hard to manage that on the YouTube page without getting rid of stuff that users have just grown used to.

And yes those are in iWeb, but no I didn't use templates.
