Hello,

I can not connect to my network since I type in terminal this command
networksetup -removepreferredwirelessnetwork en1 Name_of_WiFi

Which is the command I have to type to connect again to my main network?

Thanks
Camelia

You should be able to just connect via the graphical user interface like normal - but you will need to enter the password again. The password can be shared from another Apple device that has access to the network

I can't connect, after entering my password and check "Remember this network"

Please Help!
"Connection Failed" after selecting my "Network" AND entering my "Password"
macOS Clean Install
A) The problem started when the not secure Network "...iZZi Wifi" appears (It is a free spot for clients of my ISP) and I typed in terminal:
Code:
networksetup -removepreferredwirelessnetwork en1 Name_of_WiFi
B) I have reset the modem to "Factory Setting"
C) The name of my Network and Password are correct, I changed them via ISP portal after reset modem to "Factory Setting"
D) I can connect to the Network "...iZZi Wifi" but I am trying to avoid it, is not secure!!! ?

Thanks
Camelia

Hm. The command you typed in Terminal shouldn't have anything to do with this. It's the equivalent to just forgetting the network existed and connecting to it anew should work. - Do you get any further details on what part of the connection process failed if you hover the mouse over the triangle to the left of "Connection failed."?

How did you do the factory reset if you can't connect to the router? Did you have a cabled connection? Does that work?

You may need to contact the ISP I'm afraid.

PS. just for the record, you don't need to censor the name of the WI-Fi itself; Nobody can use that for anything unless they're in physical range anyway, and it's not like your Wi-Fi is different to the others around anyway unless devices inside your network are special targets. But of course no harm in doing so :)

Use wired connection.
Log into router via web
Some routers now prefer using their mobile app
Check for router firmware being current

I had numerous issues with apple and wifi during ios beta program. In the end a newer wifi6 is working and getting phenomenal speeds on wifi on all devices.

Do you have Windows or Android to work and test with?

Why did you think you needed to resort to using terminal in first place? What pre existing underlying problems?

No, I don't have any further details on what part of the connection process failed if I hover the mouse over the triangle to the left of "Connection failed."

I can only click on the "question mark symbol" it opens the "macOS User Guide"

"You are not connected to the the internet"

It is a MBP 2012 easy to connect via Ethernet to my modem, the Ethernet (cabled connection) is working.
They are 2 ways to do the factory reset, the modem has a small hole in the back, if I pushed for 20 seconds, the factory reset starts or from their Portal:

I have called them. some many times, they are working from home, They don't want to admit, the lack of the tools to check what the problem is. but I know.

iZZi is one of the biggest ISP here in Mexico City
Some routers now prefer using their mobile app
iZZi app is useless, no wait it is a garbage

Yes I do, 3 iPhone working with my main network, Windows PC (The one I am using to enter to the ISP portal via Ethernet)
Why did you think you needed to resort to using terminal in first place? What pre existing underlying problems?
Thanks for asking this,

A) The problem started when iZZi enabled a free WiFi Spot (...iZZi WiFi) very near to my apartment, and their signal is stronger than mine.
B) Connected to my Network, and having a lot of problems with a slow system, I decided to format my MBP, and start a clean install, inserting my bootable USB Stick, but immediately my MBP connects to the...iZZi WiFi network, doesn't allow me to choice my own Network, click on "Continue"
C) Due the ...iZZi WiFi is not secure, I decide it to type networksetup -removepreferredwirelessnetwork en1 NANE OF MY NETWORK Instead networksetup -removepreferredwirelessnetwork en1 ...iZZi WiFi

D) How do I list via terminal all the active Networks?
E) Is possible to block Mac "...iZZi WiFi" Network from macOS Recovery Mode > Terminal?

Thanks
Camelia

In your router’s wifi settings, change the channel from auto to something else, e.g. 1, 11, 6 for the 2.4 band. One of the settings you try should fix it. Macs can be pickier than iPhones and PCs about interference on the auto-selected channel.
