What the **** Apple, I restored my iPhone 6s that I BOUGHT from Apple on day one and somebody managed to enable Activation Lock on my iPhone with a @yahoo.com, but mine is an @me.com, I called AppleCare and they're telling me it's coming from China. And their making me go thru the hassle of trying to prove this iPhone is mine by going to the Apple Store I bought it at, and scanning and transferring documents to them, which they only gave me a week time frame. THIS is ********, and is on Apple, it's their fault that they infected us or they got hacked. Am I the only one??

This is Apple's fault! It's their system that was compromised or hacked! And their making me do all this work!? Ffs

See front page of Macrumors. It's a sporadic issue at the moment. But inconvenient.

My only advice is... now isn't the time to restore your device.

It doesn't matter if your device is new or if you restored an old model. Whatever it is, we're all infected. At the Apple Store, Genius told me, we all carry it. TWD

Or don't use 10 until it's stable enough to use as a daily driver. Clearly we are all beta testers on this unfinished and buggy version of iOS.

Lol - what makes you think this is an iOS 10 issue at all? Looks like a device cloning or compromised AppleID problem to me, and that happens because people want to leverage illegal sales of the latest, fanciest product. It doesn't indicate an "unfinished and buggy version".

Sure ALL problems could be down to iOS10 but many don't look like it.

Cause it's never happened before iOS 10.

It's happen to me a year ago and also 3 months ago. Both times from China. The Chinese are getting to good at hacking. I also have 2 factor authorization on. It doesn't matter.

Lol okay... Go read the iOS 10 forum where it's all complaints about bugs.

https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/ios-10.194/

The flaw is where you jump from "there are iOS10 problems" (which clearly there are), to "so all problems are iOS10 problems". Just because someone in China is only now cloning IMEA numbers or hacking AppleID's doesn't make THIS problem an iOS10 issue. It maybe much wider than that - after all there are reports of 5S's having the problem and it being triggered by an update/reset/restore process, of which the overwhelming majority at the moment just happen to involve iOS10 - but that doesn't mean the cause is iOS10 itself. TBH I'd prefer if it were as then a <simple> iOS update and we would all be safe again but that may not be the case...

So a year ago was on iOS9?

Happened to me on 8.4.1 on my 6 plus and then 9.3.2 on my 6s. And both times Apple said my phone showed on China Mobile.

This issue has been around awhile. It's just getting more widespread. It happened to me on my 6 plus on 8.4.1 and my 6s on 9.3.2. So don't say it's never happened before iOS 10. About both times mine happened from somebody in China.

This is caused by Chinese hackers changing serial numbers on locked devices and apparently they used your serial number. So when you try to restore your iPhone it will be locked to someone else's Apple ID (in China).

Your Apple ID is not hacked. The hackers just randomly picked your phone's serial number when they changed it on another device.
