Sound quality is amazing, I’m no audiophile by any means but also I like a minimum so for example Beats are no go for me, having that said I’ve never heard a pair of headphones that sound so good than this ones. I was blown away by the wide soundstage effect and the instrument separation, impressive stuff.

Also build quality is absolutely amazing, the amount of force that you have to do to adjust the headband is crazy. The cups feel solid and the button for the ANC/transparency mode is so satisfying to press.

The sad part is that at least for me they are uncomfortable. So HEAVY, ok if you don’t move the weight is not that noticeable but when you start walking you definitely feel the two cups going up and down, it’s really annoying. Also if for example you are doing home chores and moving around, the cups, having so much mass, they don’t stick to your head, instead they move around because the centrifugal force.
I bought them for listening movies and music in my home at night and if I go for a walk, so I’m not going to spend 629 € only for a only home at night headphones.

I wish Apple would release some kind of AirPods Max Sport made of plastic with the same amazing build quality and sound but much lighter.

Go for the Sony WH1000-MX4's, it's on sale regularly and it's plastic so it's less heavy. I think they're comparable, and you get a similar listening experience that is half the price.

Have you actually sent them back yet? Since there is a 3 month wait, if you haven’t, you might be able to get more for them on eBay.

They will, but until then there is another company that has something you are looking for.

Try the B&O Beoplay H9 3rd gen.

They are about 100g lighter than the Airpods Max, have a build that puts most headphones to shame(mostly metal and leather), the sound quality should be on par if not better than the AirPods Max (subject to personal preference, obviously) and they have quite a number of useful features that the AirPods Max lack (an on/off button, user replaceable battery, audio jack). They even have multi-device support.

Only downside is the ANC that is one level below that of the class leader. Just enough ANC to mute a busy office but not enough to get ran over by a car.

Agreed with this. Best ANC canceling headphones you can buy right when you factor in value, audio quality, extras, and ANC.

I sold them on eBay, I didn't like the weight and the sound quality wasn't as good as AirPods Pro, the vocals are weird sounding for me

but then you have to fumble with connecting them to your devices each time. Apple products really made that seamless. It's 90% of why I have AirPods and the most appealing part of AirPods max..or rather, the cheaper sport model they'll release in march.

yepp, I have the max and love them so far. The software switching between devices is worth it for me and the weight does not bother me. I’m coming from the original QC35s and I am not audiophile but there is a clear difference in sound quality. I’m going to test Spartial Audio with the final episode of Mandolorian tomorrow but I’m definitely keeping these.

But if someone doesn’t like the weight and does not see the product as worth it, I will point them to XM4 indefinitely.

Any bt lag though. In my experience anything without the H1 has noticeable lag on apple products

I don't notice the weight at all, and I've been wearing them for 4 of 5 hours or so to test them out. I completely agree with the rest of our assessment. They're fantastic. I'm also 6'6", 230, so maybe that weight isn't that much in regard to overall size. Build quality is fantastic.
