about my 21.5" yellowing screen issue. One of his folks called me three times and sent an email. I kept missing his calls but did leave him a voicemail back between call 2 and 3.

Very helpful, extremely concerned. Gotta give it to them. Suggested a repair instead of a new unit. Offered to set it up for me, the whole nine yards.

You should post your email. There has been some debate lately about what is the best approach to get a response from the peeps who read job's account and deal with the CS issues.

Thats why I have no problem paying the extra few dollars when buying a mac. The customer service is outstanding on apple products. The ease of bringing it in to the local apple store so they can look at it for you, so worth it imho. Lloyd

Apple's service is nice. But the screens should be good right from the start so I don't have to use their service on a new machine. ;)

I sure hope these issues are being investigated by Apple.

Never had the "pleasure" of experience the Apple customer service (only resellers here )

But i find it kind of almost comic, that Apple doesn't "recognize" or doesn't want to "recognize" this problem, and not giving a feedback to the consumers in general, but went it comes to customer service they almost walk with you in a gold plater. I'm not saying that is bad, or that i'm criticizing (i wish some day experience that kind of assistance from apple), but in overall we see 2 faces from Apple. The people get angry because they do not knowledge some sort of problem, but in other way they are treated like king's lolol

My 2 cents

sjobs@mac.com is his email. The best approach is to be polite and factual. Someone from executive relations will call/email you.

Include a case reference if you have one.

In the UK the number they call you from will show as INTERNATIONAL.

Don't you people realize if you go around publicizing everyone to write that address, no one will read it anymore.

Has anyone ever emailed steve jobs thanking him for making wonderful products for us?

Oh behave!! Do you want to keep that e-mail address your own little secret so that no one else uses it. Did you, at sometime in the past, come across the e-mail address in a dream or perhaps someone told you?

Like most big corporations all correspondence to such an obvious e-mail address is processed by a specific CS team - they will inevitable reply to it so don't worry if people, other than yourself, use it to communicate their discord.

Finally, it isn't rocket science, there's a certain Steve Jobs who works at Apple, now let me guess....what could his e-mail address, and subsequent aliases be?

Don't worry, they have skilled staff there who are well-experienced in dealing with the kinds of patients who would write to such an address.
For example, one manager there used to handle all the marriage proposal e-mails sent to the queenie@buckinghampalace.co.uk address, while another still handles the mmonroe@aliveandwell.com and vputin@kgb.gov messages.

Say what you want. I'm telling you, you shouldn't publicize the address because eventually it will turn into the same thing as calling 1800 apple, helpless.

No, I don't want it for myself. I would want it in case I had a major problem someday and nowhere else to turn.

Again, spread it around the planet if you like, just know someday when you need it, everyone may have taken advantage of it.

But the address is in the public domain already, just Google "Steve Jobs email address" and hey presto you'll find it. The reason people are e-mailing it is they feel they have a genuine issue that is not being a acknowledged by Apple. They are merely drawing attention to their unresolved problem and seeking some reassurance.

TBH, the amount of people who frequent this forum and this thread and who are inclined to e-mail Steve Jobs e-mail address is miniscule compared to Apple's customer base so it's not going to be an issue and maybe you're fretting to much about it.;)

I'm honestly not fretting. I think you're right though. The forum probably has the type of good loyal fans with real problems that need a bit of help sometimes. I do think you're right.

I guess my original post was just a feeling that you get some help, so it doesn't mean you should send 1000x more people after those who helped you. However, I think you're right in this case, it's a bit different and so many know it.

I was factual, respectful and actually complimentary on all the other apple gear I've spent about 10K on over the years.

On the post the email thing, honestly, I feel that'd be a violation of an implicit trust. The guy was as professional as they come. I intend to remain the same.

me too...

I too emailed Steve Jobs and got a call back from Executive Relations. I was courteous, kind and simply stated the issues I was having with 3 Late 2009 iMacs and pointed out some forum threads in the email.

Two of my machines were sent to Engineering for the yellow tint/tinge and as of Monday they are still trying to determine the cause/fix, but I was told that engineering is indeed looking into it and very interested in the issue.

I just don't understand how Apple engineers have not figured out the problem at this point!! How many weeks has this new iMac been out? Ugh...

I really have to worry about using sjobs@apple.com too much. I'm sure they really dont want that to become the regular customer service/female doing-ing email address. The more we use it, the less it will work.:(
