I was wondering if the built-in video camera supports softwares other than iChat. For example can I use it with Yahoo Messenger ?

i'm sure that it does. as long as yahoo supports video chatting, then the camera should work. iSight is just apple's version of one of the many cameras you can buy to use - it's just pretty good too.

Yes, iSight should work with any application that supports USB cameras. The cam in the MBP is still connected through internal USB.

iSight is firewire, not usb. but in terms of functionality, that wont make a difference, it should work just fine in yahoo.

Actually, they integrated it into the internal USB on the MBP as seen here:

well, i stand corrected, i had just assumed since it would be just as easy to internally wire it to fw, and since fw is better, that apple would have. i guess this is just more proof that apple doesn't care about fw anymore
on a related note, i can't wait untill i get to buy a new iPod and transfer 60GB of stuff over usb...

I hear you on that... It seems like the only thing i need my USB for is for connecting the video camera... I hate seeing firewire get less useful as time goes on...
