I'm glad I switched to mac. There is no going back to a PC for me. I got my 2.8 ghz iMac yesterday. I love it. No problems with it and I love the huge glossy 24" screen. I had a TN 19" matte on my old PC. I thought it was a good monitor before, now it doesn't seem like it. My pictures I transferred over look stunning on this screen.
I'm still learning it, but so far, it is great. Anyone have any tips for it? Apps that I should use? ect.
Glad to have you over on the "light side." Hehe. First thing to do is figure out where everything is located vs your Windows PC. Documents, Applications, System Preferences, etc.

Installing applications: Copy the application to the Applications folder and you're done.
I help lots of people with this because they're used to the "Setup.exe" approach of Windows. The Mac way is so simple that people can't figure it out. Let's say you want to install Firefox. You go to the site, download it, and open it on your desktop. What appears on your desktop is a virtual drive containing the program. Just drag that program into your Applications folder, and it's installed. Some people try to run the app from the virtual drive and wonder why it acts funny.
A must-have application is Quicksilver. It's an application launcher that is lighting fast.
