Hi guys,

My little brother was playing around with my jailbroken/unlocked iphone 3g and I think he accidentally hit the reset button under the settings. I saw my phone with the apple logo and the white bar(like it was restoring something), so I wasn't sure what was going on and I hit the power button and held it until my phone turned off.

Then, I tried to start my phone bu the only thing that happens is that the pineapple logo shows up for a few seconds and then the phone turns off right away.

I can get the phone into the DFU mode and tried to restore with a CFW but it gives me an error right away. Error code 1600. I don't want to try to restore with the latest official FW, as it'd cause me not to UNLOCK my phone, for the moment at least.

Any suggestions, how I can get around this issue? Is my phone bricked?

Thnx in advance,

Dogan

I would try to put it in restore mode, (but can you at this point??) instead of DFU mode and install the 3.1.2 custom firmware through restore mode, by holding down the shift key on itunes and directing your (restore mode) phone to the CFM.

what's your firmware and baseband by the way?

I guess, I am just going to restore with the latest Official FW. i am sure some unlock will come out soon. Plus I am on at&t anyway, so it doesn't matter too much right now.

Thanks guys.

Sorry, didn't notice you had a 3G. So, strike what I said. You should be able to shift or option restore and pick 3.1.2.

Ok, I am now restoring with Official FW 3.0. Let's see if I will still be able to unlock it. If not, oh well.

Sorry I meant recovery mode and here's a guy taking 7 minutes to explain how to put your phone in recovery mode...(may want to skip the first 2.5-3 minutes)

Anyway I may be too late with my response, hope it all worked out for you, please let us know
