I Bought a brand new Macbook Pro 2.33 Ghz with a Glossy Screen but it came out faulty, the battery never wanted to charge. I took it to the apple store and they offer to replace with a brand new right there but they didnt have a glossy screen available so I took the matte screen. Now that I have it for like 2 weeks, I dont like the screen at all, my eyes hurt after I am using the laptop for a while. Do you think If I call apple, they could replace it with another glossy screen?

Sorry, I have no idea.

First thing first though, change your signature to suit your screen.

I think that as long as you are under the fourteen days it wont be a problem. If it's a few beyond that then it may be trickier, but still likely doable.

Best to ya, Tom

Without a restocking fee, I would doubt it. But, the only thing that may save you is that the first one was defective.

I'd use the argument that the Apple store gave you a matte replacement when you wanted glossy, like your original purchase. "Clerk error."

Good luck!

i'm surprised you like glossy better! make sure you're don't just dislike matte because it's different, i find glossy to be tacky and impractical.

And I find matte to be washed-out and dull.

This is a "Chevy vs. Ford truck" issue - there's no "right" or "wrong" - it's personal choice. Whichever makes you happier, it's all good, ... and Mac!

:D

Yeah I am already passed the 14 days. So you guys think I should call them and ask nicely huh?...I am going to try tomorrow and see what I can work out.. I used to have a powerbook a while back but I dont remember my eyes bothering me after I used it for a while. At first I thought it just me being picky so I asked my father cause he uses the laptop almost everyday and he told yes that his eyes bother him after the staring at the screen for a while.

As someone else mentioned a good route is Clerk Error, you can also mention that you felt pressured to take the other machine and you were made to believe that there was barely a difference.

If the machine is in pristine condition and it isn't too long since you did the previous exchange (you said it was over fourteen days, but I'm assuming it's under a month) then I think that if you present any of these arguments politely that you will stand a good chance.

If it really is that tough on your eyes, then get a note from an optician to back up your case and then on top of that throw in those words "pressured, clerk error, made to believe". Best to ya, Tommy

If the screen hurts your eyes, maybe it's just too bright? Have you tried dimming it?

You are pathetic. I hope someone find a cure for your lameness. Your actions are the reason why we get expensive Macs.

And people critisize Apple for ignoring their requests.

Excuse me, How am I am pathetic? The only reason I am selling is because I have decided to go for a 24" IMac ok?...The only reason I exchange the first laptop was because it came defective, so I had to take a matte screen cause there wasnt no glossy screen available. Is not my fault apple is using some crap LCD for the matte screen. So before you call me pathetic, you should see my situation first.

I don't understand why that guy has called you pathetic! You own the Laptop so you are allowed to do what ever you want to. I think it was only right for Apple to replace the machine and if you want to sell it you can. I only wish I could afford it!

Good luck with your new iMac.
