I think I need to restore my jailbroken and unlocked 8Gb iphone. My ringer and alert sounds seem to have stopped. I'm worried about undoing what I've done so far. I unlocked with Pwng 2.1 and I'm not sure what I need to do. Will I lose everything Cydia installed, do I need to re-install. Could someone please offer some guidance. Also should I upgrade to Pwng 2.2 first?

thank you

You have done a hard reset? You know power and home button till the phone restarts. If this does not work then something is probably corrupted and yep your going to have to restore. It can all be downloaded again right?
You can always SSH the files off of your phone onto your computer via Cyberduck or something similar and then copy them back onto the phone after a restore. Only problem is you might copy the corrupted file / setting or whatever and restore the corruption. Again, that is if that is the root problem. Hard to say exactly but restoring seems to be what your going to need to do.

Yeah I'm fairly certain I need to restore. I just need to know what I need to. ie do I create another new firmware? Should I use 2.2 pwnage? I'm looking for the process so I don' recreate the wheel. When I originally jailbroke and unlocked I followed the pwnage directions exactly. Do I need to go through all those steps?

A big hearty thanks to Spinstorm in pointing out that I might have tripped the silent switch on the side. Indeed I had. Everyting is great now. Thanks again Spinstorm!
