So...I installed the Pool app that's in installers games, and when I went to play, I realized that you had to enter a code, which I assume you get after paying for the app. So I figured, I'll uninstall the app. I uninstalled the app, and it didn't give me any error messages.

About 20 mins later, I came to a break in the music I was listening too, and decided to add the weather back on to my winterboard background. Went in, and clicked it....When it went to reboot, the circle just kept circling....and circling.....and circling.....much longer then normal. So I gave it the hard kickstart and held the hom/power button down until it did the forceful reboot. Now.....I'm stuck on the Apple. And stuck.....and stuck.

I'm guessing that installer probably got rid of an important file when it was getting rid of the Pool game. Just a guess. I'm hoping that a restore and backup recovery will fix this.

Ugggghhhhh.....Has this happened to anyone else??

P.S. I guess if you stay on the Apple boot up screen long enough.....It tries again...I'm in a never restart loop.

Plug it into your computer, and wait a few minutes for it to mount. Sometimes, this is all it takes. :)

If that doesn't work, I guess you need to restore.

Avoid Installer like the plague.

In my experience it causes nothing but trouble. It's _very_ poorly designed, and thus causes all sorts of headaches due to its hackish way of doing things.

Use Cydia instead.

The first thing I did after jailbreaking was to hide the Installer icon. I've read nothing but bad stuff related to that shmutz.

You'll probably need to restore and re-jailbreak. Hide Installer using SBSettings just to be safe in the future.

Why even install Installer in the first place?

I simply don't include in my custom firmware bundles. Never missed it.

note to self....stay away from installer. I'm BaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaCK!

It wasn't an option for me to leave it out when I jailbroke using Quickpwn for Mac.

Ah. Fair enough. See that's why I avoid QuickPwn too ;-) It doesn't take much longer to build your own bundle with PwnageTool, and you get _much_ more control over the process.

It takes a lot longer if you have 16 GB of data to sync.

installer.....BAAAAAADDDDD!

I didn't include installer when I fixed it. Restore did the trick, but I'm missing a TON of stuff. For whatever reason, I'm missing a TON of apps.....Those should be in iTunes you'd think......The backup is purely for settings right??? The last backup I did was after I had categories installed, and all the apps I had categorized were hidden. So I went to an older backup. I can understand the contacts and txt messages, but the APPS and my pics?? Those are downloaded and stored on my PCs hard drive no different then music....so I thought...
