I've been using Macs for more than 25 years. Own Macs since 1994. I come from an era of MUGS and Pirates, and having a Mac was the best thing that can happen to you in that time. Most of Power users have things like Alfred, Quicksilver, Launch bar etc… as a main searcher and also Path Finder, Forklift, and others as main Finder alternatives. Keyboard Maestro and so on… Not all users need those extensions or tools on their Macs, but people like us sometimes feel drag with the consumers ecosystem and spend time deleting unusual apps or services from our Main Working Mac. If Apple work on a macOS just for the professional users, that only came installed in Pro Machines with a supercharged searcher, finder and so on I think we would love to spend time on our Macs as superusers.

What would you love to have on that macOS Pro system as a default feature?

what's the line separating 'pros' and 'amateurs'? what if a 'pro' user doesn't want a 'supercharged' finder? what if an 'amateur' buys a 'pro' mac? and how do you balance the differences in an OS if people are on different versions?

i think it's great that we have custom finder apps, things like find any file, or bartender, etc etc. so, for people who need it, there are options. but i get the point of a single OS, and doubt apple will do this (altho, one never knows with apple).

macuser since 1995 (the powerPC 6100/60) 🤯

I very much hope this won't happen. It's just one more OS for Apple to maintain and we already pay for macOS indirectly when we buy our Macs. I think a better approach would be to have optional settings in applications like Finder for advanced features if anything.
