I posted a thread a while back about my new 12' pb being a slow piece of crap. And with the help of you folks we figured out that the ram was broken and i got it replaced with a new one. It was fast for about 2-3 months after that but now its getting slow for my needs and I think I need some new ram.

I just have a problem figuring out what I need. Right now I have 512mb DDR SDRAM...
so should I get another stick of 512mb or a stick of 1gb?
and if anyone knows where to get it for cheap other than the apple store than please say!
thanks

Looking back at your old thread, it looks like you have two sticks of 256 MB RAM, right? If that's the case, you'll have to replace one of them with whatever you buy now. If you pop in a 512 MB stick, you'll only up your RAM to a total of 768 MB. That might be enough (depending on what you do with your PowerBook), but I usually operate under the theory that you can never have too much RAM, so I'd recommend getting a 1 GB stick to bump your machine to 1.25 GB of RAM.

I highly recommend either OWC or DMS for RAM...they both have online wizards to help you find the right RAM for your machine.
