I think my audio out is broken? MB

It seems like I am having a very big problem, with my audio out port(the one with the headphones icon). Nothing happens when I connect my headphones or stereo to my MacBook. Normally the OS X would switch from internal speakers > headphones, when sth is plugged in. All I hear, is sound from the internal speakers. Also when mini jack is plugged in the internal speakers keep playing. I have tested every single possible wrong setting in audio midi setup.

What do i do?

i had a similar problem, after i used the headphones my pbook would not go back to internal speakers, if i plug / unplug the headphones a few times it'll sometimes get better. for me it was the little contact inside the jack plug that was the culprit. they changed my logic board (the jack is soldered on it )
in short, i think you should call Apple
