I got an Apple Bluetooth optical mouse, and I just went to turn it of and wipe the grime off the bottom, and then turned it back on, and it wasn't being recognized. So I took off the cover, and the metal part on the cover came off.... I think this very little white ring piece came off, but I'm not sure, it's so small and minute i don't think it does anythin... What should I do?

Hmm I found another one of those little rings... I think they go over the 2 little stubs stickin out... Should I like glue them back on? I think that's how they keep the metal part on. Can anyone take a look at theirs? The 2 thingies are in the middle of the metal thing, more towards the back of the mouse.

Yeah, it looks like they just keep the metal down. Is the metal popping up without them there? I think the mouse turns itself off when the metal goes up. I wouldn't get glue near there if possible, it could do more harm than good, but if the mouse isn't working I'd try to glue the back part of the metal down (end opposite the sensor) with absolutely minimal glue. :)

Ahh, that's shoddy, those 2 little things hold down the metal piece??? Well For now I just used some scotch tape :D seems to do the job. But my mouse seems to be still messed up. It's not being recognized by the computer... I turn it on, and it just blinks 1-2----1-2 etc, I click and click, but nuthin... Hmm should I try to set up the bluetooth again, for the device? That's the only thing I can think of.

Well, looking at mine, if the metal is even slightly raised near the sensor then the mouse is on so it will obviously stop broadcasting Bluetooth signals if it's not raised there. The little white rings (if we're talking about the same thing) hold down the back of the metal plate pretty firmly so that when the white plastic sensor cover is pulled back the metal bends upwards (on position).

In other words, for the mouse to work you want it the plate to be stuck at the back and up at the front (near the sensor).

Hmm... I'm struggling with this. Maybe you could post a picture. I would but I don't have a camera handy. :)

Okay, ignore me. Hopefully it'll keep working. :D

Haha, sorry, I figured it out... kinda. Lookin at it i figured the same thing, and thetape does a similar job, so I guess I'll keep it like this. Maybe take some time one day, and super glue those 2 little rings back on. Thanks for the comment MJ.
