I think it is official, there will be a 12th application. Here is a little photo essay I put together...

Have to say, I haven't dissected the ads THAT much (yet ;) )

It's gonna be a fun few weeks here at MacRumors!

I plan to have one as soon as it's practical (meaning no camping out...)

I think I would cry if there was iChat mobile on there which supported Jabber/GTalk. And all message history was synced back and forth between the Mac and iPhone

Wow people sure do have some time on their hands! I hope the phone is really all it's cracked up to be for you all. Seriously, I'd be sad if it were a dud. :(

Could possibly be rearranged only

Not to rain on anybody's parade, because I sure hope there is a 12th icon/application also! But, could it possibly be that the 'hole' or missing application was just moved higher up on the iPhone screen? Kind of like the 'snap to grid' was maybe not on? That way it would just look like there were 12 applications, when there were really only 11.

Just pointing out possibilities.

Anyway, there have been rumors of the iPhone coming with more than was advertised in January. I hope so.

Not sure if this is correct but I noticed that this same thing has appeared on every website now. I'm not sure if you were the first but it seems so as you did a lot of research and everyone else seems to be claiming they discovered it (e.g. blogs and actual news websites).

Just thought I'd point that out.

Like Apple TV? :)

I wonder what the red number indicate on the various widgets? (Note: to apple, publish owners manual pdf files so customers won't have to speculate)

I'd like Skype more than iChat - I can already use meebo for text...unless there is a new VoIP iChat...

I'm thinking the missing app is Photoshop CS3.:D Ok seriously, what if the missing app is something that Google has cooked up for the iPhone, it has Google Maps but theres been talk that Google has been working on other iPhone specific apps. What if its Google Documents so you can edit and read your excel and word Docs? Just a theory

I never thought of that, but it is actually a really good idea. Here's to hoping you are right :)

Google docs doesn't even work in Safari yet...

What If there was an AT&T icon that took you directly to their features, much like with most other carrier branded mobiles. Though I would much rather prefer some mystery app. like ichat or gps, an AT&T icon seems the obvious answer.....
