I just received my new 20 inch iMac today. This is my first mac ever. I have grown weary of the hassles of Windows and decided to try out Apple.

This is an amazing computer. I have owned several Windows computers since 1991, and this is so much better. I can't believe how fast and simple it was to set up. Take out of the box, plug in keyboard, mouse and internet, and I'm up and running in like 5 minutes.

A couple of quick observations. The keyboard is pretty nice. I have read about how bad it it, but it really is fairly nice. My only complaint about the keyboard so far, is that the cable is too short. I have my mac on my desk, and the keyboard cable is not long enough to go over the back of my desk and down to the keyboard tray.

The screen is fabulous! I was worried about the glare from the complaints I have read hear, but it is not bad at all. I haven't noticed it unless I'm on a dark screen or I look for it.

Thanks for sharing with me, and as a mac newbie, I'm sure I'll be back with many questions in the near future.

Shortcuts for u!

Welcome!

Here's some shortcuts to play with beyond exposé (f10, f11, f12)

Apple (command or pretzelly looking key) + Tab: Cycles thru open applications
Apple + `: cycles thru open windows within an app
Apple + m: minimizes the current window. Try it with the shift key too, weeee
Apple + n: New finder window / Apple + 3 turns it into column view, my fav
Apple + h: Hides current application quickly
In safari, apple click a link and it opens in new tab within the same window

Have fun!
Ben
