iPod I Tunes licence agreement keeps popping up

since I transfered an Mac mini to a IMac G5 the Itunes licence agreement pops up and you have to click agree every time you start Itunes

This makes it impossible to use Front row etc if Itunes is not running

I added songs after the transfer , just Itunes was transfered with the other appps and settings

have tried upddating/reinstalling Itunes to no avail

any help would be appreciated

Perhaps iTunes is unable to write to file /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist, as a result of the way you transferred files to your Mac mini.

As an experiment, you might try changing a preference setting in iTunes, quit, relaunch, and see if the preference change is lost. If so, that's evidence that this may indeed be the problem and you might try trashing that file (which would cause all of your iTunes preferences to be lost) so iTunes will recreate it.

tried just deleting the plist file as don't have ay major preferences > same though

Is iTunesHelper running, and is it in your login items? Try deleting the com.apple.ituneshelper.plist.

Try one more plist:

Spotlight iTunes plist and you should have an additional plist file located in

~/library/preferences/byhost/

This file should have a name of the format com.apple.itunes.(a hex string here).plist -- one more time, try trashing it or moving to the desktop while iTunes is not running and then running iTunes.

Excellent ! , trashed the by host folder which was Zero k

and Itunes starts perfect now

is this like a migration folder ?

I'm glad it worked. I have no idea what that folder does... it was a lucky guess. But if I had to guess, I'd guess it's instance-specific stuff like licenses. But it should not affect anything important like your iTMS account, cuz that stuff wouldn't be stored there -- even the password would be in the keychain and not in there.

Just wanted to quickly post a thanks. I had the iTunes Software Licence agreement keep popping up after the 9.1 update and trashing the plist in ByHost was the answer.
