So, the i.tv update was promised to have streaming videos of TV shows. I have yet to find a single one. Anyone else have any luck with this? Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place?

Will they come out with an update for comcast DVR boxes. I don't have TiVo I use my cable DVR box. That would be great.

The easy way to see if you have any live streaming is to click on the date/time on top if you're in the guide. Go to the bottom and filter by live streaming. Personally, I don't have any so the update was pointless. Hopefully some will come soon though...

iTV is an app that is a TV and movie guide at the moment but has been promising the ability to stream live television or at least give us the ability to watch shows on the iPhone w/out downloading them from iTunes. I haven't yet been able to get anything to stream, but they did say they would be working on it so hopefully it will soon work.

If you have the new update and you look through your listings, there is a golden arrow for some shows. The ones I have seen so far are basically previews. There's also some related media which is cool like clips from "Mythbusters."

I haven't seen entire episodes yet. That would be awesome.
And streaming live shows like football would be phenomenal.

no live streaming

i.tv never promised live streaming, only steaming ala hulu etc. Currently they still do not have any full episodes up but the capability is now there to watch full episodes whenever they are able to work out issues with their content partners.

As for football, first since there's no live streaming, you won't be able to see it anyway. But more importantly, the NFL wouldn't allow it with us paying an exorbitant fee to do so. I wouldn't get my hopes lifted too high for that.

Finally, I am still hoping AT&T mobile tv (a live streaming app) will become available to iPhone users. Most of their other 3g devices have access to this.

In my first post, I said "the update was promised to have steaming". I never said "Live" streaming, just for the record.

And, I've still not found a single feed for streaming, unless you count movie trailers. :(

i.tv streaming

I wasn't calling you out specifically. However, I think others in this thread may have been under the impression that streaming referred to live streaming. And you're right, they have no streaming video of TV episodes up at the moment.

What's with all the steaming going on??? :D

So....do we think this app will ever open up to OTHER DVR's, or is it just going to be Tivo-compatible? When they promised remote DVR recording, they didn't specify just Tivo, so I was hoping it would be more.

NFL network games stream online.

I think at least for now, the best we'll get is something like the Slingbox app coming out, which requires another piece of hardware from $180 to $300 to do it. I travel to Europe a lot, so with a Wifi connection, this MAY be an investment I will look into. If I can stream TV from my Dish Network DVR to my iPhone, including live TV, I would be VERY happy in a German hotel room, or from my bunk on a tour bus.

Haha, good catch. You mean you have never heard of live steaming? Yes I was aware of NFL games being streamed online, but I know how much the NFL loves to exploit its properties and I stand by my exorbitant fees contention.

As I said, I would be so pleased if apple and AT&T would make the mobile tv app available to us. I also came across another app that would solve most of our grumblings in terms of alternative video formats. Have any of you heard of core player - I realize this might be a topic for another forum, but I am a little disappointed in apple right now for not approving this app.

This application is so frustrating. I really want to love it. It is crashing all the time on me. Yes - I have fully rebooted my iPhone (many times). Just scrolling down the tv guide list and touching the a listing makes it crash. The ads are horrendous. It seems like the app works very hard to pull down new ads. Between that and the heavy graphics for each station, this app is slow and unstable.

The streaming aspect is obviously a work in progress. I have started another thread here with a list of shows that look like they will most likely have streamed episodes. Even the ones they have (very few) are inconsistently handled. NCIS, for example, shows one (1) episode, but breaks it down in the background to several smaller files. I guess that is OK. Odd, but OK. Another show lists that it has four (4) episodes, but it is really one (1) show broken apart into four (4) visible sub-videos. I started to watch the NCIS show on a fast wireless network, The quality was OK. It actually had some Asian language (sorry - not sure what language it was) streaming across the top of the video. Almost like it was a pirated video. Very weird.

I guess it is a work in progress. It is free, but you need to be really patient to use it. I sm alsowly running out.

I used to love this app and would really like to still use it, but I also have the constant crashing problem. Before I updated, it would crash nearly as soon as the app opened. I updated and now it will load properly, but at least 50% of the time when I try to click on something, it crashes again! I see Im not the only one having this problem.
Im having to use Whats On for now and unfortunately it doesnt have many of the features that i.Tv has, but until i.Tv stabilizes their app a bit more, I cant use it. :(

It hasn't crashed even once for me, for any version I think. I've been very happy with i.tv, especially as they keep adding episodes to shows, and movies. The quality varies, and sometimes it doesn't stream very well, but the streaming is an added bonus anyways and they have loads of content now.

I DL but didn't install yet. I still have v2.1 firmware. Wished I would of upgraded to v2.2 before 2.2.1 came out...too many wifi problems with iPod Touch to upgrade to it for me. I had problems when it was v2.1 with wifi.
