I want a New Mini

currently have the 1.66 Core Duo/80GB HD/2GB Ram

I want apple to upgrade the mini to

2.2 Ghz Core 2 Duo
(ability to upgrade ram to 4GB, I will do it myself as apples ram prices are criminal)
160GB Hardrive
Intel 3100 gfx (I hear it can handle full HD, would prefer Nvidia but that aint gonna happen)
Wireless N

Does anyone think apple will offer this spec this year?

Is that graphics card a built-in one? (sorry, I know nothing about video cards really).

Other than that I really don't see why not, nothing too outlandish there, just a reasonable bump in all areas.

I think the 3100 referred to is Intel GMA, so yes integrated into the chipset...

As the mini is basically the internals from a MacBook I don't think you are too far off with your wish list.

The current line of Mini's sport the Intel GMA 950 graphics chipset that can address up to 64 MB of memory (stolen from system memory actually). The newer Intel X3100 graphics chipset steals system memory as well up to 384 MB. I'd like to see the Mini's sport X3100, the Santa Rosa chipset to get that precious 4 GB memory, and a port on the under-side that allows connecting additional things under the mini instead of having to daisy chain stuff with USB and Firewire cables.

while memory is important for gpu's, mhz of the cpu and gpu are far more important, alas the MB of the said gfx cards is the sales gimmick of the business.

GMA 950

The GMA 950 allocates a base amount of 80 MB for video and boot processes at startup. For example, a Mac mini (Mid 2007) with 512 MB of RAM installed has 432 MB of memory available to Mac OS X and applications.

Actually, I just looked back at the specifications listed for the current breed of Mac Mini's and it says it sets aside 64 MB for video memory (click on the 'complete specs' link):

It would seem that Apple's information needs to updated with a bit more information...

Edit: Correction, at the end of the page from the link it has in the footnote info on the 80 MB thing. Its a bit confusing...

What's it gonna take for Apple to put in dedicated graphics back in the mini? I'd say a low end card with a cap at 128MB. "But Jedi! Mini's are basically MacBooks in a desktop setting!" Yeah, I thought about this. They should put dedicated graphics back into the MacBooks. Low end stuff just to make sure there are still big differences between the pro stuff. Then I would buy a mini. 8)

Or why not just make the mini the MacTower that everyone wants?
