duuuuuuuuuuude you don't get it! imagine the current Air but only smaller and as rumored lighter which i don't even know they are gonna do that!
the more i think of it the more my heart beats! i think i'm gonna get laid a lot this quarter!
The way I see it, the market demand is on a 13" MBA for $2k.
Um, OK. Would you also like some dessert with that?
Jobs' obsession is with thinness, not screen size, apparently, so unless I see an 11.6" Air, I don't believe that it is going to happen.
yes 13'' is the minimal acceptable size for most people but then again since when "acceptable" and "Air " are on the same sentence? it's all about being ultraportable, not happy with that? get a Pro.
I agree that Apple is unlikely to release an 11 inch MBA. I just hope (1) that there is an updated 13 inch MBA and (2) that its improvements are dramatic, rather than just incremental.I believe it's just as likely we get a 15" MBA as an 11" MBA. The way I see it, the market demand is on a 13" MBA for $2k. If price goes to $1k, sure an 11" MBA makes sense as an iPad competitor... URGH, wait, there is no reason in the world to make a competitor to the iPad... NOPE, no 11" MBA... you will be waiting a lonnnggggg time.
However, the rest of us will have new 13" MBAs to play with and everyone that said it was EOL and the iPad was taking its place will look like SJ tools/fools.

I agree with this post.
I would rather not have an 11.6" MBA. I thought I wanted one, but then just thinking about how ridiculous that would look - that is a turn off. The 13" screen is the perfect size for document writing etc on the go.
I would love to see a bump in the resolution of the macbook air..but for some reason apple likes to shy away from that. Don't really need more ports, but a bump in speed and ram would be nice.
RAM is, indeed, the key. I am hoping against hope that Apple will redesign the MBA in a way that allows the inclusion of slots for RAM modules. That way, it could be upgraded to 8Gb of RAM. I fear that 4Gb of RAM might still be inadequate for my purposes, which include running VMware Fusion in Unity mode so that I can run Windows apps from the OS X dock.Yes. RAM is the key, it has to support 4GB minimum as well as using newer processor and graphics card. 13 inch is the smallest screen size of use for getting any real work done(resolution bump would be nice though). I don't see a smaller version coming.
No way. *13" MBA priced at $2K is a loser in a broad marketplace. *Most people have no desire to play $2K+ for a computer that gets obsolete in 6 months.
Actually, the MBA was born and shaped in large part by Steve's obsession with a reasonably sized screen (13" in his opinion) and a reasonably sized keyboard. Those two factors are what differentiate the MBA from netbooks regarding the ultraportable market.
As somebody who bikes to school all the time with one in my backpack, I agree with him that weight is the critical factor, and not the dimensions being below those of the MBA. You need a bag for a netbook or MBA, and as the manilla envelope commercial pointed out, there isn't much that an MBA won't fit in.
However, if failed to tell us, with the original MBA, that it was a POS and was worthless. Redeemed Apple with the v 2,1 MBA which absolutely has dominated the ultraportable market, NOT IN SALES, but in high quality and performance.
