I want the new MacBook to be silver!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really hoping for the new macBook to be a beauty 13 incher ... silver.. just like the powerbook line. wouldnt that be amazing!! while the ibook is a beautiful design and ahead of its class, the silver 12 inch powerbook is a beauty.. so yeah i hope the new macbooks are silver

any thoughts?

Not gonna happen. Sorry, but there needs to be clear distinction between Pro and Consumer products. Color, construction material, and features are key elements that need to be different in the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines, especially since the names will be so close.

It won't be just a smaller version of the MBP like the 12" PowerBook is a smaller 15" PowerBook. They may adopt an iPod style, though, with elements of both "silver" (chrome? aluminum?) and white, perhaps more like the Mac mini. That is, the "silver" would be more metallic than grey.

Yeah, that's easy. Just buy a macBook if you want something that looks like it.

Pound/dollar for pound/dollar, the MacBook Pro 12/13" will be the better machine than the MacBook 12/13", (woah, too many slashes there). If you don't mind paying the extra for the better machine, see what the 13" MacBook and the MBP offer. If the prices for both are fairly good, and colour is really that important, just go for the Pro model.

We don't know that... it's certainly not the case with the 12" ibook/powerbook G4. We also don't know if there will even be a 12/13" MBP.
