Hi,

Going through the AppStore under High Sierra, I'm unable to purchase Final Cut Pro X on my Mac Pro as it now requires Mojave or Catalina to run in the first place. Since it'd mean a lot of effort to upgrade my 2009 Mac Pro to Mojave (new graphics card, flashing ROMs etc), I'm wondering if I can buy FCPX on another newer Mac that has Mojave, log out of my account there, go to my High Sierra Mac, log in to my AppStore and see an installer for the latest version that works with High Sierra?

How else can existing High Sierra users download the app in case of e.g. a re-install? I think the last working version is 10.4.6 or 5? Is there a legit trial version or other way of buying the last working High Sierra version? 10.4.8 doesn't work!

Thanks for any help!

I still don't know if it's possible but now do know that the Apple support via e-mail or phone does not have a clue. Three or four phone calls, an e-mail and hours in the waiting line just to have a technician going weird at me. Not sure what to think of the support but people who use cracks have an easier life. Seriously makes me think...the 200-300€ for a decent new / second hand graphics card + 329€ for Final Cut...I can spend that money and buy PC parts that will beat my maxed out CMP by miles and just be done with all the Apple stress. 🤔

You’d need to by on a computer that will run the current version, then you’ll be able to download an older version on the older computer from your “purchases” section of the App Store app.

Thank you, that's what I'm hoping for! Have you tried that before? Is that for sure?

Thanks!

I just reverified it, and it works just as expected, installing version 10.4.6 on a High Sierra computer.

Wow, that's great! Thank you, then I'll see how I can do that and hope it'll work for me too. Thank you very much!

Can confirm this worked!! Thanks for your help and no thanks to Apple for such a bad support.
