I want to get new macbook pro 15" 2.2 GHz.
So do I have to wait until the Leopard comes out or is there are new Macs hardware comes out.?

Also I prefer to buy it on the 23rd because there is a Apple tax free in my university, :)
But I hope I can get the leopard before .

Q:
If bought one with the tiger and I dont open the box until the leopard comes out can I exchange it without any charge : for only one week.

:)

I suppse the restock thing depends on your university store if that's where you are going to get it, but at an apple store you would have to pay the restock fee which is 10 percent so it would be cheaper to just buy leopard plus there is always the possibility that apple might give you a discounted price if you buy close enough to the release date but nothing is guarenteed

If you buy a MB and leave it in the box, and don't touch it you can return it without paying the restocking fees... chances are if you buy it on the 23rd Leopard will either be out or You'll be within the timeframe to get a free copy of Leopard... but Don't take my word for it because no one is really sure except mr Jobs

i thought i remembered reading somewhere that you were eligible for the new OS if you bought your mac within 14 days of its release...

That has historically been the case because you can just return the computer with 14 days.

Since you're in a edu setting there is a good chance you would get a discount on retail Leopard (probably $69 instead of $129). This is good because then if you buy Leopard and dislike it for some reason you can revert back to Tiger and sell the retail copy of Leopard, but you could probably get a copy for free anyway.

What's the point in buying a new laptop and then leaving it in the box for a fortnight? If you're going to do that you may as well just wait it out.

tiger and leopard

if you buy a mac before leopard, but within the "free" copy phase, do you then get to keep your 10.4 disk and get a leopard disk, or is it an exchange?

i think having both could prove valuable in the first few weeks of small bugs. Thoughts?

If you obtain a free copy from Apple, hypothetically speaking, you would get to keep your Tiger copy and get your Leopard.

Personally, if you can buy it tax free, buy the MBP, save the few hundred on tax (not sure what your tax rate, but in my province in Canada it is 14%), and pay for Leopard, if you have to. You are a student so you get an eduational discount anyways.

Thanks for all of you :)
I decied to get one on the 23rd of October. and I hope it is the time that leopard shipped :)
