I am so angry at it!

1. Well it refuses to keep my ichat connection. It constantly loses it. All the freaking time.

2.Yesterday it refused to connect to the internet. I connect using an ethernet cord- when the windows desktop isn't in use. Well starting yesterday it claims it's not connected to the internet. This forces me to use the family windows desktop. I am not happy.

Okay I'm done ranting. Just had to get that out :)

i'm assuming that you're having problems with the Airport on your MBP?

is this the only computer on the wireless network? if no, are the other machines experiencing issues?
what kind of router do you have?
have you tried to adjust the settings for better connections?

If it's any help to you, Chax is a great program that adds features to iChat. It includes one that reconnects in the event that iChat drops out. Works great on my iBook. It's a Universal Binary so it should work fine on your MBP.

As far as your general internet problems, that's very strange. Have you checked through your network settings to make sure nothing is amiss? Try reseting them to default. Also, sometimes a simple restart is a remedy for any problem.

Good luck!

Before blaming your MacBook, you should try using another Ethernet cable. If you're using a router, try rebooting that too.

Yeah, sounds like your connection in general is just shotty. Does the Windows desktop have any trouble using an instant message client?
