I want to unjailbreak my iphone....I wanted to know if I need to restore to new or just restore..and I also wanted to know if when I do this will cydia and winterboard automaticly come off or do I have to do it manually before I restore?I have to take my phone to apple tommorow for a couple of diffrent reasons and I don't want any evidence that will tell on me..

But if I restore as a new device won't I loose all my contact info and everything else in my phone?

Yes, but that's why you need to backup your device, and it should automatically sync everything back after restoring.

However, for contacts, make sure they are ALL in your address book.

Restoring from a backup might have remnants of jailbreaking.

Yes, you will lose all info on your phone. You should, however, be able to backup your contact info somehow -- depends on whether you have mac or pc, and if you use mobileme or google/yahoo/ms exchange. If you don't know how start another thread in the iphone help forum to ask. But anyway, since the reason you want to unjailbreak is to take it into Apple for service, here's what I'd do.

1. Backup your phone. (In itunes, right click (or whatever the mac equivalent of right-click is) on the iphone icon and select "backup")
2. Restore as new. This will remove all traces of jailbreak.
3. Take it to Apple. Come back with fixed or replacement phone.
4. Restore from the backup you made in Step 1. (right-click and select "restore from backup") Voila, you have all your info back on your fixed/replaced phone.
