So I have been looking lately to upgrade the SSD in my MacBook Air. It's the 11.6 inch version with 2gb RAM (I don't need more since it is not my main machine).

I checked OWC and they have a few options but none in stock and when speaking to their customer support they revealed that they had no idea at all when the SSD options would actually become availible.

So my question is, where can I get hold of an SSD upgrade (I sort of wish I had bought the 128gb model now but in Sweden there is quite a big price difference; 179USD).

Are there any other places where I can get hold of an SSD drive or is it not worthwhile, I can live with 64gb but 128 or more would have been nice. Since I bought this MBA I have stopped using my MBP as much even though it is more powerful but I find the air easier, faster and just more comfortable to use.

Any help would be appreciated, maybe someone here is willing to sell me their SSD for my 64gb + cash?

Get a small but high-ish capacity USB flash drive. There are ones that are as small as the one included with MBA but go up to 32GB each, maybe even 64GB. Shouldn't cost you much $ but gives you extra storage without sacrificing portability.

That is a good idea that I have considered and I guess it is the cheapest option but wouldn't I get problems if I wanted to run windows of such a drive? I'm just exploring all possibilities :)

agreed with all the above suggestions. for the time being, just use a portable external drive. it's cheaper and can get you a lot of space for data.

wish more companies will be making the flash storage for MBA soon..

i regretted too buying the 11" with 64GB only. but when i actually look at my disk usage, it's 42GB free.
