Am I the only dumb-ass who bought Portal 15 minutes before it went free to everyone under the sun on wednesday?

I emailed steam asking for a refund and they denied me.

If you bought it hours before you could have jumped ahead of the massive server hammering that was going on. Torchlight just finished downloading a DAY after it was available and that's just 700mb! It flew down when I bought the PC version months back.

yeah blows. more frustrating than the issue was actually trying to contact valve about this.

I'm one of the ones that got in on the Beta of Steam. Is the full version different than the Beta version. Which I finished several times! BTW love the game
