If it is one thing i keep loosing arround the house it is my Airpods. I constantly keep track of where they are. Unfortunately I can't locate them while they are in their case.

The next AirPods will most likely have AirTag tech built in.

Case already has the battery power, U1 wouldnt add any bulk and people lose their case all the time. So this would be a no-brainer. (But then again, we said the same thing about the AppleTV remote...)

If they are outside of the case, if the airpods are inside the case it does not update the location.
