Has anyone in NZ received an i5 yet?
Just wondering if apple are waiting untill there is a container load before shipping:)
I only ordered mine a week ago from the online Apple store, but, having sold my iMac 24 on Trade Me am already suffering from withdrawal symptoms:eek:

Haha no I don't thin apple is waiting for a container load to ship your unit, they are shipped individually you know.
I'm from NZ but haven't placed my order for an i7 yet but will do so soon. I was just waiting to hear if the i5/i7's are running into any serious issues before ordering.
Hope your unit turns up soon mate.

a container load of imac i5 and i7's to the land of the long white cloud? LMAO!:D sorry bud, but ain't gonna happen. like previous poster said a courier will deliver your imac. Good luck with it :D:D

i ordered my i5 thru a reseller last 4 January 2010, all i got from them is "still on back order . . . have received other apple products but not 27" iMacs"

was told it maybe the end of jan or early feb?

how about you guys?

Tosh claims to have them in stock. Of course, that won't help if you've already ordered from elsewhere, but it's an option if you haven't ordered yet.

DSE claim a shipment is coming 15th Feb. They also said I'd have it in November and then again in December -

I grabbed a bargain little lot of components ($250 all up, not incl monitor mind you) and built a 2.2ghz core 2 duo machine with a 8600gt in it and installed Leopard directly from a retail dvd.

I am so happy with it (was meant to be an interim machine) I am considering just using it to hold me over until early next year after which I'll get an Imac directly from Apple.

Im probably going to wait a month before buying mine, I generally dont buy from retail stores in NZ, i prefer to just order it online. My last purchases have been shipped from AUS actually, do they not store Apple products in NZ?

I don't know about Tosh (they've always looked dodgey to me!), but the best retail prices for Macs are usually found at JB HiFi. They don't have the quad iMacs, but they have recently dropped the prices of most of the Macs - their current catalogue lists:
  • MacBook 2.26GHz, NZ$1,598
  • MacBook Pro 13" 2.26GHz, NZ$1,848
  • MacBook Pro 15" 2.53GHz, NZ$2,748
  • iMac 21.5" 3.06GHZ, NZ$1,898
  • iMac 27" 3.06GHz, NZ$2,898
Prices include GST (or at least the current 12.5% GST ... who knows what the fools in Government are about to do!)

I'm staring at an i5 screen, meaning I'm posting this off the said machine here in Auckland. There were a bunch of i5's at Magnum Mac (Newmarket - Auckland) back in late October early November. I have an i7 on order from early November.

Delivery has been put back again and again and was mid January. I suspect we're now caught in the global delay that seems to be going on. I hope this means a better machine. This i5 is magic and has been faultless.

This is my first time going Apple and I'm loving it.

Ordered my iMac 27" i5 in mid January with an ETA for delivery by mid February.
Just checked with my Reseller (Harvey Norman) - delivery now expected end of March...
