Or are they bto only?

Thanx all

At the Victor, NY (suburb of Rochester) store today they had them in stock. They actually had all the iMac models in stock.

They had only one in store when I bought mine in Sweden.

If they wouldn't have it in store, they said they could get it in a few days.

They do have i7 27" iMac on display in stores. Whatever they have on display, they have it in stock. But if you want to add SSD, larger HDD, or extra memory, then you will have to order it.

I felt Apple Stores are now carrying more variety in stock than before when most stuff have to be BTO ordered.

I called the NYC 5th ave. store and they said they don't carry the i7. I was asking if they can order it to the store- they said no.
Later that day I took my dog to the park and decided to come see how the 27" looks like before I buy online- and apparently they did have the i7. They also let me to upgrade the memory in 30 min.
