I hope it does but I doubt it.

Even if it is silly to think the 2011 MBP has the i7 as standard the 2010 MBP also had the i7-620M as their high end standard.

Apple loves its BTO.

Seems unlikely when they can instead make the transition to Sandy Bridge while maintaining the relative positions of standard and BTO options.

I was originally going to say maybe the low-end 2.8GHz but I just looked up the specs and the price per unit and I will now be saying probably not.

Then again for all we know, Apple might just skip the BTO all together in this revision and just straight up offer the 3.4GHz as the top end iMac.

I say no as I think the base 27" will be a i5 quad with a i7 BTO. BTO is a large profit center for apple.

It has to be in the standard model/s...

I doubt apple will allow MBP to have i7 on 5 out of 6 models and not include it in the iMac as standard. I would even bet on having it as standard on the smaller one (21.5" if they'll keep the screen size )

If it is correct what they say about "Sandy" less heat, power consumption and better performance for similar price I think new iMacs will get significant boost this spring...

No. There would be nothing to upgrade to. i5 2500 @ 3.3GHz will be the standard option, and the i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz will be the upgrade.
