Hi Guys,
Does the i9 with 5600m GPU has the same loud noises issues as the previous 5500?
I would like to make decision between this two models:

OPTION 1:

  • 2.3GHz 8‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor
  • 64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5600M with 8GB of HBM2 memory
  • 2TB SSD storage
OPTION 2:
  • 2.6GHz 6‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i7 processor
  • 64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5600M with 8GB of HBM2 memory
  • 2TB SSD storage

WHAT I WILL BE USING IT FOR?
  • iOS and Android development
  • Photoshop, Light Room and After Effect
  • Running virtual machines for some softwares testing
  • Occasional music production

No.

5600M uses HBM2 Memory, which consumes far less power than the 5500M, reducing thermals and fan speed.

Considering your usage, I'd go with the 8 core.

Is the iMac envisaged ? It could be a lot better for the use cases you are enumerating.

The issue with iMac is portability, if that wasn't an issue it would be a better choice indeed
