I am a new mac user and just got back from watching a really cool slide show made with a PC using Adobe Premiere. Is there an iapp that can make slide shows as cool?

It just had a lot of cool effects, mulitple songs, and the pace of the slide show went with pace of the music, eg fast music had shorter intervals between slides.

If not, is there another apple product that has the same capalities? I know there is an adobe premiere for mac, but I get a much better discount on apple branded software at my school.
Thanks

try iMovie3 it has alot of features and unless you need truly pro features then i think it will do you exceptionally well.

2x audio tracks + movie track. 1x video track. sound FX, video FX inc.

give it a go. its a free dload for anyone with a net conn and os x 10.2.

if you want to buy it (and iDVD3 (which needs to be purchased) along with iPhoto2 and iTunes 3) its called iLife.

otherwise you may need FCE or FCP. good luck

iMovie is free, but really a consumer-level tool. if you need more power Final Cut Express or Pro are what you need. after using them i think you'll be happy you switched to Mac since they blow away Premier in everyway, IMHO. i'd say start with Express, it is more powerful than Premier and will give a solid foundation should you want to progress to Pro later on. Premier is outdated and not anywhere near as usable as Final Cut. enjoy!
