iBook collections

Just interested in whether anyone has any idea if we will be able to create collections in the iBooks app. Looking at their information, i.e. tour and written information, if you have more than about 25 books, you cannot see them.

I normally carry around 100-150 books in my iPhone, deleting them as I read them, adding more when my count gets down. In some of the other readers I have had in my past, they allowed collections to cut down the top layer of books. They could be anything I wanted, normally I used Authors to keep them separated.

Does anyone know if this will be included in the iBooks app, or if it is in the todo list for future updates?

I am not entirely sure what you are asking, but if I understand correctly, I think the app will just be a scrolling, never-ending bookshelf so it won't matter how many books you have.

I agree it'll probably be a never-ending scrolling bookshelf, but without some way to at least group the books by user-defined categories, it will quickly become impossible to find anything.

I'm sure there will be some Spotlight-style search capability that will instantly find whatever you're looking for.

If the iTunes precedent is anything to go by, there should (at least in some future version of iBooks) be a capability to create "smart" reading lists that sort books by genre, author, and things like that. As well as the ability to create your own custom lists. But I'm not sure we'll see many of those features on April 3.
