i was trying to run wow on my old ibook but the screen just goes black when loading the game
the music comes on but the screen doesn't show anything
is the ibook capable of running wow?
do i need to change some settings or something?

Try holding down Option as you start it. If WoW is anything like other Blizzard games, that should launch it in a window. If that doesn't help, try pressing Command-M (or Apple-M) to toggle in and out of windowed mode - do this when your screen is black.

You may need to find the WoW preference file and trash it to reset the video options (possibly in your home folder then Library/Preferences, however I think they are located somewhere difference for WoW).
 
What kind of iBook are you talking about?

iBook g4: should run WoW (my old 933 MHz first generation did).

iBook g3: not gonna run WoW
